    NEP Initiatives

    The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 envisions making India a global hub of quality education through curriculum reforms, technology integration and international collaborations. NEP-2020 is based on the cornerstone of ‘Equitable and Inclusive Education: Learning for All’. Significant steps have been taken to implement Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in accordance with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasising inclusive education, equitable access, affordability and reducing disparities. The goal of NEP 2020 to establish India as a global knowledge superpower has been successfully executed in the KVs under the Mumbai region.

    • Implementation of the various provisions of NEP-2020
      1. Re-alignment of age of Admission-In alignment with the recommendation of NEP – 2020, the age of admission in Class-I was revised to 6+ years from the academic year 2022-23 in all Kendriya Vidyalayas.
      2. NIPUN Bharat INITIATIVES-National Initiative for Proficiency in reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN) document lists class wise Lakshyas or Learning Outcomes (LOs) in English, Hindi & Numeracy.
        1. Tracking of Students’ Progress in classes I to III to ensure the attainment of FLN, being monitored by recording through a web-application linked to the PIMS.
        2. Commenced in 2021-22 for students of Class I, extended to Class II in 2022-23 and to Class III in 2023-24.
        3. Students are assessed at the entry, middle and exit stages through multiple informal observations.
        4. Training imparted to PRTs/HMs to conduct such assessments & plan learning interventions on the basis of analysis of the data captured
