As outlined in NEP 2020, one section of three Balvatika classes for ages 3+, 4+ & 5+ have been opened in 49 KVs on pilot basis in the session 2022-23 and 5477 Children admitted in all the three classes of Balvatika. At present , In Mumbai Region, there are 21 KVs have Balvatika in the academic session 2026-27.
In 2026-27, one section each of Balvatika-3 class is being started in 450 KVs in the country amounting to 500 KVs . In Mumbai Region, Balvatika-3 has been introduced in 21 KVs from the academic session 2026-27.
