As a mentor, he attended 2–day Year End Seminar for sharing best practices and taking feedback for National Mission for Mentoring (NMM) organized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE),New Delhi from 30th – 31st January 2024 at Welcome Hotel, Dwarka, New Delhi.

The seminar was attended by 60 selected mentors and 15 Principals along with 15 selected mentees.

Prof. Shashikala  Wanjari, Vice Chancellor, NIEPA was the chief guest on 30th January 2024. She emphasized on the need for effective mentoring of teachers which will bring about an impactful transformation in teaching-learning process in all school systems in India. It was followed by mentoring activities conducted by ShikshaLokam Team, New Delhi. In the post lunch session, best mentoring practices by selected mentors were presented. After that an interactive and feedback session on mentoring was conducted. The interactive and feedback was extremely rewarding as I learned more techniques and methods of mentoring and also the possible solutions for the challenges that I have faced in my mentoring sessions that I have conducted online on NMM Portal.

On 31st January, Prof. Yogesh Singh, Chairperson, NCTE delivered his presidential address. After the presidential address, Prof. Sharad Sinha, Head, DTE, NCERT made a presentation on the impact of mentorship on enhancing teaching practices and professional growth. It was followed by a discussion session on challenges and conflict resolution in mentorship and self-reflection in mentorship by ShikshaLokam Team.

The seminar was extremely fruitful and enriching for me in my further mentoring sessions. It will certainly help me in my journey as a mentor for teachers. I learned a lot about mentorship from my fellow mentors’ stories of mentoring experiences.

The 2-day seminar was a rewarding experience for me as I am now more empowered and enriched in conducting more and more mentoring sessions.

I express my profound gratitude for nominating me as a mentor for National Mission for Mentoring launched by National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi.
